An ancient tomb far older than the city above, hidden for eons under the mountain. The Ash Crypt, gifted to the Fiends for their role in taking the Crane District above.
History Ash Crypt
When first discovered, the entire complex was filled to the rafters with ash and bones, which kept the ancient architecture in surprisingly pristine condition.
Fiends got the Ash Crypt as payment for helping the Crane Federation conquer their distinct of Bloodworth. The Crypt is located at the very bottom of the Crane Distinct.
In the hundred years since the Fiends moved in, new buildings and shops have been constructed between the pillars, turning the cathedral-like hall into a bustling city street under the mountain.
Now the Long Hall is open for anyone to visit. But be advised that Fiend law applied within the Crypt โ punishments are swift and cruel. As a result, the Crypt is by far the safest place in the Low-Ward, as long as you follow the law, that is.
At the far end of the Long Hall lies the Sacrifice Pit and the Altar, past which point no outsiders are allowed. How far down into the mountain the tunnels reach no one knows, and still to this flame ash is being hauled out from the depths.
