Two massive statues of Elize and Icarus Crane, above a pool in the Elizeium baths

Art Facts: Master Plan

When extending the top floor of the Baths, Elize commissioned two sets of statues to commemorate her reunion with her siblings. While Elize paid for it, she gave Icarus and Sejal free rein to work out the details with the artist on their respective statues.

Icarus chose a scene from before Crane was a name known to the world, when it was just the two of them and they had nothing. It depicts Icarus contemplating their future, finding a way to make their ambitions reality. He was stuck on an impossible dilemma when Elize danced past and pointed out a detail he had missed. Icarus now credits this one moment as the foundation of his entire master plan. What was the detail? He won’t say, as “even now, more than a hundred years later, the pieces are still in motion.”

Artist: Gian Belgrath.
Height: 24 arms, 10:1 scale.
Medium: Faradon marble.
Style: Neo-heroic nude.

Reception: The statue has been generally well received. “The contrast is excellent,” said one critic. “Icarus places himself almost outside the frame, slumped over and defeated. While a spry Elize is given center stage to swoop in and support her brother in a time of need.” Another critic commented “Gian made the heavy marble seemingly float with Elize impossibly balanced on one leg.”

Trivia: Rumor has it Icarus included a little barb at their largest rival, the Bloodworth Federation, in this statue. Arwel Bloodworth is known to use her personal observatory to spy on the other districts from atop her tower. Should she direct her spyglass towards this window, however, she will find quite the cheeky rebuttal aimed straight back at her.

The Chandeliers above the Great Hall hosts small restaurants

The Chandeliers

This is a piece of art you can have dinner on. High above the grand hall hangs two chandeliers, each with a small kitchen at its center, surrounded by a circular dining platform. Your food is prepared right before your eyes by our very best chefs. Be sure to make your reservation in advance!

Artist: Glassblowers Guild.
Medium: Metal and glass.
Style: Spiky deathtrap.
Warning: Do you have bad “sea-legs”? Maybe skip this one. The gentle swaying of the platforms doesn’t sit well with some. Please do not throw up into the pool below.

The Many Rooms

A long hallway that runs the length of the building. It’s divided into smaller sections, each with their own purpose: fun activities, art, exotic styles, and much more. Most of the rooms are sponsored by a guild or merchant wanting to display their wares, while some are paid for by particularly rich elves who just wants to show off.

The Library

The top floor library is far more extensive than the one on the main floor. The room is stacked with shelves seven layers high all the way to the ceiling. If you get lost in the labyrinth of books, stairs, and ladders, please call out and one of our attendants will help you out.

The Long Bath

A narrow pool with a bench running along the entire perimeter, perfect to sit in for some tea, cake, and gossip. This calmer side of the floor also offers greats views into the great hall and out to the city. Breakfast is served here at dawn, in case you decided to stay all night.

The Masquerade Hall

A bit hidden gem that is easy to miss, but a place well worth finding. In here you are required to wear a mask, which you can find on your way through the library. This is to create a sense of mystery and intrigue, as you never know whom you might meet in there.

The Snooze Dome

Please be quiet, this is a place where you take a nap and regain your strength if you’ve had too much fun. It also hosts a salted pool, should you prefer the weightless feeling of sleeping floating on water.

The Snuggle Dome

Hardly needs explaining. This is where you get to know your fellow bathers or our attendants better.

With an excellent view of the Hot Bath below, as well as the Arwel District across the bay and the sea beyond. Here you also find the private baths which access for a small fee.

The Banquet Hall

Mostly used for special occasions and is rented out for private feasts.

Elize’s Residence

Located at the east end of the baths. But it’s, of course, closed to the public. If you are here on official business, speak to her assistants in the office.
